About Inter-Faith Aid Ministry International

Continuous teaching, open preaching and personal and public prayer — with practical action behind them.

Our story

From a youth society to a ministry without borders

Inter-Faith Aid Ministry International Uganda and USA is a domestic, non-profit organisation committed to advancing socio-economic development and promoting education for orphans, poor and needy children in Uganda, East Africa.

The work began as Sanyu Youth Aid Ministries in 1962. In 1966, after founder Rev. David Seremba returned from a church development course in Kitwe, Zambia, Uganda Youth Aid Society was formally established. Over the decades it grew into IFAMI, with chapters and companions in Uganda and the United States.

Our approach is holistic. We pray with people and we work with them: sponsoring students, improving access to healthcare and clean water, supporting elderly clergy and widows, and helping families build sustainable livelihoods.

What guides us

Four values we return to

They shape how we raise funds, choose projects and treat the people we serve.

Integrity

We uphold the highest standards of honesty and ethical conduct in all our activities, and we welcome accountability.

Empowerment

We engage in community fundraising locally and internationally, through government, generous companies and foundations.

Sustainability

We pursue projects that sustain accommodation and provide the commodities people need for human development.

Innovation

We keep seeking creative solutions to the challenges facing our communities, rather than repeating what no longer works.
